I was was curious to know why the Amazon mp3 store wasn’t available in Ireland. According to the Amazon mp3 store it’s because:

So I thought, hold on the itunes store is available in Ireland so it can’t be that hard. I sent an email to IRMA and asked them why Amazon was having problems getting rights to open the store.
According to IRMA,
“Amazon haven’t sought a license from IMRO
(www.imro.ie) or MCPS yet which is necessary to operate a music download
store.”
I get the impression that Amazon do not particularly appreciate the Irish market. So maybe we can show them.
Just add your name to the petition by filling in the form below. Hopefully, if we get enough names, Amazon will see the value of the Irish market.
